Brockmire: Rally Cap
April 23, 2017 5:50 AM - Season 1, Episode 1 - Subscribe

In 2000, Kansas City Royals radio announcer Jim Brockmire (Hank Azaria) had it all, until he found out his wife Lucy was being (very) unfaitful and an on-air, booze-fueled rant ended Brockmire’s career. He's been out of the public eye (and country) for 17 years until he gets brought back as an announcer for the minor league Morristown Frackers, owned by Jules (Amanda Peet).

I'm late to this and they've already aired 4 episodes but they are all available free for streaming from IFC's website.

I've been consistently surprised by it. The characters are quite well written and the writers avoid the obvious sitcom-y plot turns. I hope it stays for quite a while.

I only started watching this because Hank Azaria's voice is hilarious outside context. And the shit he says in context is even better.

I heard about this when Azaria was promoting this on The Late Show, thanks Mick for reminding me!

Azaria is fantastic, and Peet seems interesting so far. I'm liking the interplay between Brockmire and Charles. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the season.

Amanda Peet was surprisingly (?) awesome in Togetherness.

Well folks, if you ever wanted a show where Joe Buck admits he had a finger up his butt, this is the show for you.

The first season is up on Hulu now, and season two will premiere in April.

I enjoyed watching him beat up a wacky waving tube man.

Oh nuts! That comment mentioned a much later episode, treating this like it covered the season. My bad.
