Z Nation: Escape from Zona

Something may be rotten in the state of Zona.
We have another eventful week, full of mysterious stuff:
* People are disappearing on the road to Numerica. We don't know where the convoy people ended up, nor where the people at the camp, including Red, have gotten off to.
* We have some new form of Z that is resistant or immune to head shots.
* Now we know what would happen if Addy and 10K threw down for real: it'd be a draw. That seems fair. (The iconic 'shoot a bullet in midair' thing reminded me of a similar moment in Ghost In The Shell.)
* Alas Dr. Teller, you were too full of exposition for this sinful world.
* Zona sure went downhill fast. The AV Club felt like that was a waste, and I'm inclined to agree: I wanted a little more time around robot cars and golf, soaking up the weird postapocalyptic utopia before blowing it all up.
* Lucy's on her own, and the Murphy can't sense her. Upside: he wasn't really in on any of the darker Zona shenanigans. (It's not really his style anyway - he might want to be king of the world, but he wants to be king of a functional world, while the Zona brass seem very invested in wiping the slate completely clean.)

Yeah. I really enjoyed the bit with the car accident, followed by the crowd eating the corpse. And the psychotic golfer. Heh.
Oh, and The Founder going on about Dunning-Kruger was hilarious. (Finally, a zombie show that acknowledges that!)

Yeah, Dunning-Kruger actually needs to be a pop culture reference by now because it's so ubiquitous. Glad to see them call it out!
Also glad to see Warren knock out a guy and fit perfectly into his soldier uniform. This show does a couple of things really, REALLY right, and as much as I hated what they did with Cassandra's undead stripper uniform demise, they usually either radically satirize gender norms or refuse to focus on "oh, I'm stripping to swap clothes with a man/my boobs!/etc." with Warren.
I mean yeah, Roberta's sexualized to a limited degree, but more in a She Hulk kinda way -- not a "damsel-in-distress-and-also-skimpy-outfit-with-stilettos" way. Nobody is going to stumble-grope Roberta and live to tell, especially Murphy.
Same thing with Addie Carver. Is she always wearing makeup and jewelry, with her hair looking freshly colored and deep-conditioned? Yes (except during her sister-wife summer away). But that time she and 10k talked about taking turns plucking each other's eyebrows was pitch-perfect, too. Even Doc loves a good spa day now and then! Let's be real, Murphy's mostly gonna miss all those gross country club outfits, wearing cologne and taking hot showers with younger women. He's such a delicate little flower, roughing it on the road really irks him.
Addie and Lucy seem like they'd be happy driving a truck together if the End Times actually ended and "regular" society made a comeback.
So, is Addie some kind of "Lucy blend" situation? I confess to not remembering from last season.
Addie and Lucy should be running into Our Gang next episode, right? I hope they have a "Lucy and Addie" flashback ep that highlights what they've been doing during the two-year time skip.
Warren and Murphy really are like the reverse Morticia and Gomez Addams, aren't they? I too will miss some of Zona's WASPy bullshit. Not sure why it thrills me so to see people dying in tennis whites, but... I just love it. They barely lingered on any gore there!

Oh and where is Citizen Z? Didn't he land in Washington last season? Did Kaya have that baby, I assume?
WTF, CRAIG ENGLER! I demand answers.

I'm always excited to be wrong.
The slow dawning horror of someone crippled by psychosis is pretty well-done here, IMO.
