The denouement felt like a bit of an anti-climax because we already knew so much about the killer and didn't learn anything more about him.

I can't understand why Connor didn't have anything else to do other than chase the investigative team around and be an asshole to them, such as, say, looking for a new job. The best revenge is living well, Connor. Although I realize that advice comes a bit late to do you any good.

Laszlo managed his scheme bizarrely. Hello, you could have let your team in on your plans, and you needed backup when you went to confront the killer

I liked that Sara is the one who saves the day because she's the only one who had the sense to arrived armed. Though where she kept that gun and why Connor didn't see her take it out escapes me.

I'm in hopes that there'll be another season. There is a sequel to The Alienist called The Angel of Darkness that could be a basis for the script.
