I guess it’s completely believable that Wyatt didn’t go into that encounter with any grenades but man, woulda been handy with the ship right there huh?

Also, why is the time machine in the lobby?

Little visual inconsistency: when they are in the past, walking away from the lifeboat, Mason trailing, the hatch is open. In the subsequent wide shot it’s closed.

I liked Mason’s tickled moment hearing himself on the recording. When these people express awe and enjoyment over the momentousness of what they do it really makes them believable to me.

yeah that was a great moment, i knew it was coming but it was still really enjoyable to see him so ecstatic

pretty good episode overall, i'm enjoying these historic figures that i never hear much about.

I'm enjoying the plotting that's shoving all the action up front and letting the rest of the episode deal with the fallout rather than 40.9 minutes of goddamn tiptoeing around the tulips trying to avoid stepping on any butterflies before _bang_ an unsatisfactory ending occurs.

It was nice that Muddy Waters, Son House and Bessie Smith just sort of got a shout out without the episode being about them too.

Like the Vulture reviewer I'm enjoying that they're playing with the formula by not just focussing on Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus and I thought this episode in particular was a really good one in terms of seeing more from Conor & Agent Christopher, both of whom are played by really strong actors who don't always get much screen time.

I greatly enjoyed the reaction of the time travellers when Mason said that he'd never done it himself as it was too dangerous, the Shakespearean babbling was also a great moment and his reaction to hearing himself on the record was great.

Goran Visnijc has also been really enjoyable in the last couple of episodes, I feel like he's getting an excellent balance between the smug/cocky DGAF time terrorist and the more sensitive human side. I feel slightly wary of where they're going with the Lucy's diary plot but I suspect they don't plan to resolve that this season (so maybe never if they don't get renewed).

Definitely agree that so far they're doing well at focussing on plot rather than tiptoing trying to avoid making changes and I'm relieved that so far they're also steering away from overly philosophical time-travel logic stuff.

I was a bit skeptical of the lifeboat redesign to accommodate an extra person, as it seemed like such a strong hurdle to overcome if we can follow the narrative of past episodes, but having watched this episode I'm now all for it. I think allowing the mix of time travellers to change as the various missions and situations require will be a good one to keep the show and the scenarios interesting.

Legends of Tomorrow threw time-travel logic out the window and that show got much better for it.
