Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Halloween II
October 19, 2014 6:31 PM - Season 2, Episode 4 - Subscribe

It's the sequel to last year's "Halloween": To win a bet with Capt. Holt, Jake orchestrates a daring wristwatch heist with the help of an expert pickpocket (guest star Apollo Robbins), but quickly discovers that he's been had. Meanwhile, Gina's dance troupe doubts in her commitment to Sparkle Motion Floorgasm.

Real-life sleight-of-hand artist/theatrical pickpocket Apollo Robbins demonstrates his technique in this 2013 TED talk.

Apollo Robbins?! Oh man. Since it moved to Sundays I can never to remember to watch it live, so I just wait for it to pop up On Demand, which is usually fine, but now I'm angry at myself for playing video games when I could have been watching Apollo.

TBH, Apollo isn't really in that much of the episode, but I just thought it was cool that B99 went to the trouble of casting a real pickpocket-artist instead of resorting to typical TV fakery. Now that I know the final twist of the episode, I want to watch it again just to see if I can spot where it happens.

The middle 10 minutes of the episode was kind of middling, but I love the payoff scene so, so, so, so much.

This show makes me laugh so much. I can't think of anything that makes me laugh as consistently as this show. This episode was great.

It's the throwaway lines that kill me the most. "You can't wash a car."

I applauded.
