There’s something inherent in you that’s making it hard to change, and I think so much of the emotions of the show are very personal for me—not that I’ve killed anybody. But certain emotions you have, I mean it sounds corny but I do have a real problem with sugar. When you get older, it’s hard to change. It gets incredibly difficult to change, and I think that’s what all of these characters have in common. It’s why Cristobal is doing self-help books, or Goran wants to be a good father and family man, they’re trying to figure this stuff out.

Barry's balance of bleakness and hilarity is just breathtaking, right down to that final line: "starting...now."

this show is so good. i rewatched the first season a few weeks back to prepare myself for S2 and i somehow completely forgot about the entire cabin epilogue, which broke my heart all over again. very excited to see how the show evolves this sunday.

I haven't decided if I'm going to watch season 2 - I was so saddened by the murder of Janice. I suppose it's no worse than the murder of Chris, but, it just left me feeling done with Barry as a character. Where can he go from here other than repetition/escalation?

Where can he go from here

Land a sitcom? ... the showrunners and network execs are worse than the mob.

I also think this would have worked very well as a one season and done series, but I will watch season 2 (starting... now).

Bill Hader is pretty interesting as an actor—in sketch comedy or voice work he’s always so dynamic and energetic, but in his more major roles like Barry, Trainwreck, and the Skeleton Twins, he’s much more subdued and passive. I recall from an interview with Marc Maron on WTF that the idea for Barry grew out of the fact that while Hader is excellent at comedy and acting It really stresses him out.

The season finale tied the bow around my completely fallen out of love for Sally.

I've really enjoyed this so far but I've where Barry nearly assassinates everyone in his way is starting to be a little bit repetitive. Mid-season, I was hoping that the show would focus on his struggle to transition from a hit man to an up and coming actor, hiding his past, and his relationships in the present (and complications in them that result from hiding his past).

I haven't seen season 2 yet but I'm guessing that he'll be killing more. :/
