David Harewood directed this episode! And now that he's done J'onn can come back!

I actually enjoyed the almost-over-the-top earnestness of the episode and of Dreamer's storyline. Like AV Club pointed out, it's a great time for a cable TV show to feature a trans woman superhero speaking in support of immigrants.

I have no sympathy for the Lockwoods at all. I don't condone violence and murder, but a jury of mes would find that alien lady not guilty.

I really enjoyed seeing Kara to some actual journalism - in particular I loved that she used super-speed to type really fast. Helps answer the obvious question of how she was holding down a job as a journalist AND doing Supergirl stuff at the same time.

I don't get the visualization of Dream's powers at all. Were those supposed to be dreamcatcher tendrils or something? (I'm not familiar enough with LSH characters to know how each of their powers are typically depicted.)

I will say, however, Kara really should have taken the opportunity to fess up to Lena after Lena shared her secret.

I don't know what they could do to make me care about James' PTSD, but that certainly wasn't it. That was the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time. I'd have been much happier with a real journalism-induced trauma (shooting a war zone, or a domestic riot with death or some other serious, realistic scenario.)
