Excellent episode! Bismuth liking Pearl is simultaneously from out of nowhere and "of course!". One of the best moments in Bismuth's introduction episode was that whole "Who do you belong to?" / "NOBODY!" bit, where they were totally Doing A Thing together.

Also, loving the rollerdisco generallly plus Connie's retro shorts!

The title made me expect more focus on Bismuth, but any episode with Pearl and Connie (and Stevonnie) and the car repair jingle that was as much fun as most of The Movie's music was another step forward toward a totally cool finale.

This was such an excellent episode.

I like that Pearl's human friends are so varied. It makes sense considering how vastly different gems can be from each other. Their names, I think, were Kadesia, Himay and Brandish. I hope there's a story behind each of them.

I'M JUST SO HAPPY FOR PEARL YOU GUYS and now that Bismuth loves her I love Bismuth more. She deserves so much happiness. They both do.

Pearl: always been my fave and always will.

Oh for absolute sure. The way Pearl literally threw herself into Bismuth's arms, without a moment of hesitation, way back in B's intro special...like, I felt it in my core then, and I felt it in my core the second Pearl just rolled B's sleeve up with that lovely caress along her muscles. I mean there was nowhere else that was gunna go, man, and I am so fucking happy about it, because Bismuth is like, the only goddamn adult Crystal Gem. Out of the lot of them, she's the only one who has consistently reasonable responses to things. She wears armor over her gem. She's thoughtful and takes her time processing shit rather than just rushing into things. And the bit in Made of Honor where she sticks her head in the lava to scream out her feelings about the Rose Qurtz/Pinkie reveal..like, I feel you, B.

Pearl is still my favourite, but Bismuth is a very, very close second and this whole episode made me so happy.

"She's just how I remember her, but different. Happier."

Ugh, so good.

Well except maybe that one time but I think we can spot her one "hi almost all your friends seem to be dead and you've been asleep for 5,000 years because your personal hero betrayed you horribly but she's gone now and has transformed into this completely different person in a way that doesn't sound possible" reaction.

And having written that, I now reflect that the children's cartoons of my childhood had plots like, "the Super Friends are turned into trolls and forced to work in a mine but it turns out it was all a dream that a monkey was having on a camping trip" and wow talk about a change for the better.

Not just "your hero betrayed you" but "your hero betrayed you because your plan puts her directly in jeopardy in a way you never anticipated and now you have to disappear forever because she won't tell you the truth."

I really enjoyed that episode. Connie hadn't gotten enough screen time for me. And I love "adult" Stevonnie's outfit!

Their names, I think, were Kadesia, Himay and Brandish.

Khadijah, Jaime (but the J is pronounced like an H), and Brandish according to the captions and the wiki.

Just in case you also felt the urge to play the Stevonnie skating song on repeat, it was Can't Hold Me, by Emily King. She also helped create Being Human, the end-credits song for Steven Universe Future.

Phizzy, who put together an extended Love Like You by stitching the Season 1 credits song together, made one for Being Human. It gets cut off because that's what's out right now.
