Mostly a retread of the trope where friends accidentally kill someone and the shittier friend starts a chain of disasters by trying to cover it up.

I actually liked this a lot. As you note, nothing startlingly new — basically Deliverance meets A Simple Plan — but i thought it was intense and engrossing, with good performances.

Decent. DOT's summary, pretty much.

Not sure about IMDB's summary about lifelong friends; childhood friends, reunited after years apart, perhaps. A little tiny bit 'Killing Zoe.'

This just dropped on Netflix after winning the award for Best British Film at the Edinburgh Festival.

It's a simple story fairly well done. I actually gasped a few times, which is impressive.
