A Title Search

After doofing around FanFare for a few minutes, I discovered that you can see a list of all of the movies/shows in the "Archives" section. This seems a bit difficult to locate. I'm not sure of the best fix for this, but here are two possibilities to kick around):
  • allow some boolean flags to the search bar for precise shows ("title: the congress")
  • Put up a special purpose search bar at the top of the page that goes directly to the archive

There's a link on the front page of FF that says "see all tv shows" and "see all movies." It's under the photos of newly added shows.

That's true, but (and here's where I really first-world problem things) it requires me to scroll down the page to find that; I'd say that a title search or index should be prominently visible at the top of the page.

Also, it is a looooooong scroll on mobile.

Bookmarks? Favorites?

Bookmarks? Favorites?

A bookmark is possible, but seems weird to me. Fanfare comes across as very similar to the AV Club and other media fora, which generally make it ridiculously easy to find a particular show via search. Bookmarking the archive page seems very un-inernet. My FanFare / Favorites are good, but only after you've found the show. Before you find it, they're kind of useless.

Thanks for the suggestions. We're all a bit scattered right now around the holidays, but we'll give this some thought. We definitely want people to be able to find their favorite shows easily. That's why we have the search form at the top of the Archive page. You can start typing the name of a show, select it, and get to the show page that lists all posts about that show.

We'll think about whether or not that's something we want to move to the front page.
