Description taken from IMDB, doesn’t mention horror/supernatural. I like horror films that are creepy and atmospheric without being gory and really liked this one. Amazing how a film set on an open prairie could feel claustrophobic.

...based on the silent movie starring Lillian Gish? I've been wanting to see that movie for a long time. It was directed by Victor Sjöström, and he made some remarkable movies.

Regarding being "based" on the 1927 The Wind, I've seen both films, the general plot and some of the emotional drive is similar I think but the content & style of the new film definitely is more modern in its approach and it does lean into more of a folk horror mode. Both are good and I would totally recommend tracking down the 1927 film (well worth your time).
