All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite: Dynamite 2/1 and Rampage 2/3
February 1, 2023 5:13 PM - Season 4, Episode 18 - Subscribe

Will Jon Moxley and Hangman Page's simmering sexual tension finally explode? Can someone hand Jade Cargill a loss? Will a visiting veteran defeat Bryan Danielson? These and other questions answered tonight!

Tonight's announced card for Dynamite:

--TBS Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Red Velvet
Jade's winning streak continues, if she beats Red Velvet she'll be 50-0

--Brian Cage vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Cage will want to punish the Japanese phenom for interfering in his post-match attack on Danielson last week

--Hangman Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley
Hometown hero Moxley is looking for revenge for injuries inflicted by Page

--Bryan Danielson vs. Timothy Thatcher
Danielson must win against Thatcher, the violent alumnus of Pro Wrestling NOAH, in order to face MJF at Revolution

--The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) in action
Almost undoubtedly to be interrupted by the Gunn Club, because they seem to be the only tag teams right now?

TNT Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Samoa Joe (No Holds Barred Match)
Joe's gonna kill you, Joe's gonna kill you...

I actually wasn't into Page/Moxley for the first few minutes because it felt too restrained for me, but then good ol' reliable Moxley opened up his head to juice the match and everything got super macho and can-you-top-this.

Mox wins but clearly even he feels unfulfilled with a rollup victory, but meanwhile while we wait for them to inevitably rematch at Revolution we can have Hangman take on Claudio!

"Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum" are some of the most 80's wrestling names I've heard in a long time.

Darby Allin coming out in a thumbtack studded hoodie is the kind of indie-wrestling lunacy I'm here for. Even a seasoned veteran like Joe had a look on his face like "Oh, this kid's craaaaaaaazy."

Plus they're both busted open in the first five minutes, good episode for lovers of bloody matches.

Oh, you thought Wardlow forgot about you, Joe? Gaze in fear as he clears his eternal foes, the ring security crew!

Rampage notes:

Starting the show with the Trios match kinda gives away the ending, not that I really thought the champs were losing tonight. But damned if Matt, Ethan and Isiah Kassidy didn't do their best to convince me otherwise.

Notice Brian Pillman, Jr. has changed gimmicks now from "excited collegiate athlete" to "young Kenny Omega impersonator."

Speaking more generally, other than the Elite who are tweeners, it seems there aren't any factions of faces anymore except for the recently nerfed Dark Order. Every heel has a stable and every face is lonely, which makes for good drama on a match-by-match basis but if it goes on too long we could get into Sting vs NWO territory here.
