I liked this episode, seems like they finally got around to reminding us that it's a Starz show. (By that I mean sex!) But I also thought that there was a little bit off in Eleanor's character early in the episode. She didn't feel as strongly written as she's been in the past.

I think Eleanor is worn down and tired of doing everything herself, now that she's truly alone. Thus, the hookup with the Charles. Be interesting to see which way she goes now that Flint has made his intentions plain.

Not a good plan to ransom the daughter of pirate hating important person in the states. That can not end well and will only bring a ton of heat down on the whole island.

Have Flint and Max ever met? I don't think so, but it would be interesting to see how they play off each other.

I gotta say, I knew it would be a messy fight, but I was not expecting basically the first confrontation between Vane and Ned Low to be quite so, urm, decisive.

Miranda Barlow sure doesn't mess around when she wants somebody. There sure have developed a whole lot of layers to her and Flint's relationship since that flashback, though.

I really feel for Vane in this, and worry that him getting the girl too early means his days are numbered. However, we will see! I did like the sudden death of Ned Low though - I was groaning, like, is this going to be the season big bad? BUT NO! And now I never have to see his irritating face again.

I do wonder why the original merchants had the drugged up daughter of Lord Ashe though?
