Whenever this was on cable TV, I'd have to stop and watch it. So many excellent scenes. AND Jennifer Coolidge. AND Selma Blair. AND Holland Taylor. Oh, everybody in this movie is just perfect.

I've long thought that Elle Woods and Tracy Flick are an interesting pair of characters (or possibly caricatures) for the same actress to play.

Elle's courtroom transition from fumbling to fierce as she realizes that her knowledge is power is always so great to watch! And Linda Cardellini in her Roseanne Roseannadanna hair gets me every time.

This is both dumb and smart at the same time, which is something I've never quite known what to make of. That said, I do always love "What, like it's hard?" because she was already good enough to get into Harvard.

So, in my first year Civil Procedure class, our professor (a woman) was very, very, very, very clear that we could not be like Elle Woods and wear a pink suit to court.

On the other hand, when we actually went to bail court for first year Crim, the Crown (prosecutor) was wearing a suit so pink that even Elle Woods might have thought twice about it, and she was clearly the person in the room who had everything under tight control, whereas the duty council and various defense attorneys were constantly floundering.

So, you know, ymmv on pink suits in court.
