MeFi Horror Club: Friday the 13th (1980)

Friday the 13th is a 1980 American slasher film directed by Sean S. Cunningham and written by Victor Miller. The film concerns a group of teenagers who are murdered one by one while attempting to re-open an abandoned campground, and stars Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Laurie Bartram, Kevin Bacon, Jeannine Taylor, Mark Nelson and Robbi Morgan. It is considered one of the first "true" slasher movies.

As mentioned in the previous thread, this upcoming Friday is Friday the 13th and will be the kickoff of a seven year long journey of Friday the 13th films.

Availability is good, with it on Netflix, Amazon, and Epix (?), and digital rental available everywhere.

As one last note, you can learn more about Horror Club 2.0 here. Of note this week is a sort of backup plan by which, if a person fails to announce their pick by their designated Friday, they will have a grace period until Monday. After that, anyone can jump in and make a pick. That's what happened this week, and so you get me and Friday the 13th, which I was going to do on my own but it ended up getting combined with the pre-established horror club.

Literaryhero, I am sorry that I couldn't find anyone in a timely fashion. Deepest apologies.

That said, wow, I haven't seen the original film in yoinks.

No need to apologize. I was going to post the movie anyway, so no skin off my nose.
