Watched this the other night. It's so surreal and gentle and lovely and I can't stop thinking about it. It lives in the space of Gilliam and Gondry and Kaufman and Anderson and Jonz and the Daniels. I always feel like, a little bit, stories involving dreams are able to cheat by escaping into the dream-world, blurring the lines between this world and that, and in my view this one definitely cheated in that way but it did it so well that I didn't mind.

I feared this would be too twee for me, after hearing about it at the 2021 Fantasia Fest in Montreal, but I liked this more than I thought I would. It fell on the right side of weird as opposed to being some kind of Wes Anderson / David Lynch mumblecore mashup that I heard some people describe it as. I'd echo 366 Weird Movie's review of this in that it definitely invokes Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep for me (if anyone is weighing whether or not to spend time with this film).

Flickering Myth review.

An interview with the director with the blog 366 Weird Movies. The directors also gave us Sylvio.
