I liked the creature reveal a lot.

Was it enough to carry the whole movie? 🤔😑

Answer for me was no. That speech to it by Dakota at the end felt really trite to me and was not the emotional payoff they were going for. I felt like I had watched versions of this a billion times before.

Love those tags!

Less so the movie; indeed 15 minutes too long was 15 minutes not spent dealing with the huge plot holes of survival timelines (where's the latrine? potable water? menstrual products?) before finding the second location. And another 15 in the 2nd act too.

A lot of potential but I think that the show From [fanfare] scratches those itches a lot better.

Though I do have to give it a point for a Evil Dead audio recording homage.

I'm going to have to remember this one for a ttrpg "character background" - the fallout from being a huge brat who caused your mother's death and your ensuing relationship with your (twin?) sister and (lack of?) guilt.
