Trivia!
- The original title for this episode was, "The Secret of Prisoner X-10." It wasn't changed to "Legacy" until September, 2015.
- Clancy Brown, who voiced Savage Oppress in The Clone Wars, voiced Ryder Azadi in this episode. The placeholder name for the character was Vol Freilus.
- Ryder Azadi's rifle is a modified version of Steela Gerrera's sniper rifle prop from The Clone Wars.
- Ezra's vision shows Capital City in an idealized state, before it was "modernized" by the Empire.
- The Star Destroyer Relentless featured more detailed tractor beam projectors in this episode to match up with what's visible on the Star Destroyer Devastator in the opening of A New Hope..
If it helps, I don't think this was the season finale. According to Amazon, this was only episode nine or 11, depending on how you look at it. I think this is more-likely the Mid-Season finale, as one website claims this season will have 22 episodes to it. I feel pretty confident that Season Two's finale will somehow involve a confrontation between Ahsoka and Vader.
The episode, itself, wasn't bad. Ezra remains one of the characters I care least about. He's fine as part of the ensemble and crew of the Ghost, but since he kind of exists at least from the start as a POV character for younger viewers, and given his age, I simply didn't connect with him nor find him overall, that interesting. His parents are a storyline that I probably would have been fine never knowing the conclusion of, (I mean, how many viewers were actively keeping track of the mystery of his parents, despite the first season episodes dedicated to it?). I'm glad he got that closure, particularly the fact that they were killed by the Empire. It's not a happy ending.
He was darn impressive on his attack against the stormtroopers and Kallus, to the point that, I wondered how close to the line he was concerning the Dark Side. Anyone else have that question pop in their head?
And Chopper proved why some droids are fitted with restricting bolts. Meh.
I would love to know how Kallus, who has lived a life of continual failure since we've met him, has the power to order an Imperial Navy Admiral around (was that Konstantine or just a captain?).

For some reason I thought the first season was shorter. So I'm glad to know that this is just a mid-season finale. Because I definitely want more Ahsoka. But I some how doubt we'll get this battle between the two, for some reason I feel like they're going to keep these characters apart. But we can hope...

Yes. I'm waiting for him to sort of stray and go dark for a season. I think that'd be interesting, to watch him go there and see what its like for a Jedi to come back from that place.

Meh, he's basically there to act as a foil. But yes, logically he should have been force choked to death by now.

You're not crazy. Season One was only 13 if you don't count the three episode three parter.

It was kinda cool to see Ezra finally start showing some Jedi combat moves. Even so, this episode was kind of a let down overall. So far I think my favorite this season was "Stealth Strike."

Strange to see folks here feeling let down by this season. I was chatting with a friend yesterday about how much we're enjoying this season. There has been some great spaceship action, we are getting clues to how the Rebel Alliance is pulling together. Ezra is developing his skills, and the crew seem to be pulling together and learning to rely on each other.
I definitely agree with the idea that Ezra was leaning toward the dark side. He was reacting in anger, and Kaanan noticed and shut the door.
Overall, I've felt like this season is better than the first.

I enjoyed this episode, though I am surprised they didn't try to draw out the mystery of Ezra's parents longer. The fact that Ezra has the Ghost crew as family seems to help prevent him from brooding to much and possibly turning.
I wonder if X-10 is going to appear again.

Yeah.
Where the heck did they come from.
I'm gonna need a montage to rationalise how he turned from brat to kick-ass padawan.

This seems like a thing in modern story telling, on TV.
Secrets aren't kept for long anymore.
I mean, the last Supergirl's reveal was something that would have been fifth season a while back, SHIELD/Arrow/Flash are all "sure, let us chuck in Hawkgirl/Vixen/kitchensink already". It feels like TV has gone from slow burn to popcorn in terms of revelations.

I know some people think Ezra goes to the dark side, but if he does, then who stops him in the future? Until ROTJ, it seems like a bad guy working for the Empire would mostly be able to do their thing unless they crossed Vader or the Emperor.
The best Rebels theory that I've heard recently was that they're the ones Leia is trying to meet up with on Alderaan in "A New Hope." Wraps everything up. Though Aftermath does possibly imply that one of them survives through ROTJ.

If Ezra slips over, it sounds like Kanan would be the logical person to confront him. The issue of Ezra and the Darkside appears to be a growing theme in the upcoming episodes (as season in the mid-season trailer released yesterday.) You raise a good point, though, and it's disturbing. Luke is portrayed as the last of the Jedi, but on this show, we basically have at least three Jedi (or 1 full Jedi, one three-quarters/1/2 Jedi, and one 1/4th Jedi)...and if Luke's to become the "last" Jedi, then what does this mean for our heroes?

The show does have the option, which I think is pretty likely, of just not resolving what happens to these characters.
Like they could do 4-5 seasons, not move time all that much and just stop making the show. Find a nice place to resolve the ongoing arcs and call it a day. The creators could easily shrug off demands of "but what about so and so!!" with "hey it's a Disney XD show, go watch Rogue One"
