Dance Academy: Perfection First Watch

The one where everyone behaves less than perfectly.
This is one of those times Tara's upbringing on a farm holds her back. Her bugging Natasha just before going on stage is definitely cringe-worthy.
And Sammy is a mess when it comes to relationships. As you point out, that has a lot to do with the dysfunction in his upbringing.

What I like about Sammy, though, is that however messy he is, he always strives to be clear about why.

And Tara continues to be a bull in a china shop. She should shut her face in class.
And Ethan is equivalently embarrassing in a social setting he doesn't understand. Cringe.

He can't really have thought Mia wouldn't find out, which makes it an extra shitty way to break up with her and a shitty position to put Abigail in, too.
I thought it was really poignant listening to his breakup conversation with Mia because it was so clear that they go back a really long way.
She didn't seem surprised, though - just saddened.
Clearly Sammy has a type - he's attracted to bullies, which is consistent with the whole thing of being drawn to people who are like the more problematic parent.
As for Tara, she looked amazing in that purple outfit and should have kept the jacket on. Abigail's outfit was the worst, by contrast.
I was really cringing on Tara's behalf all the way through and I don't blame Natasha for being emotionally unavailable FIVE MINUTES BEFORE GOING ONSTAGE ffs. Has nobody taught Tara that you don't bug people who are about to do a show? They talk about this like it's Natasha's fault for being "self-absorbed" but like I said, FIVE MINUTES BEFORE GOING ONSTAGE.
What Natasha said afterwards though... screw her. I was glad to see Tara added a layer of green to fake her out (I assume that was a joke) and I was glad to see her mucking about with Kat at the back of Natasha's class. Good for her.
(Also, if you don't want your hair colour change to look weird like Tara's did, dye your eyebrows and eyelashes too BUT NOT WITH THE SAME DYE YOU PUT ON YOUR HEAD. NEVER, EVER. You can get silver nitrate dye by the brand Swiss-o-Par that will do the job as safely as it can be done. You can get peroxide-based eyelash dyes too, but I had such a bad reaction to those once, that I will never again let peroxide anywhere near my eyes.)
Also, I do not like the actress who plays Natasha. I know she's supposed to be mannered, but she just seems hammy to me.
