We finally learn who was behind the drone: Pamela (Kristen Wiig) was a wealthy socialite whose frenemy had a bunker reserved but didn't get to it in time. Three years into the plague, she finds the group and leaves the bunker.
Presidents in the plague time include Pence, Ryan, Tillerson, Sessions, and DeVos.

Pretty rare for this show to show us any dead bodies.
And yeah those funerals were the best sort of wish fulfillment.

I haven't watched in ages, but I'm a sucker for plague origin stories and this was marvelous.
I watched the funerals four times.

"Shit, this is getting dark," is what I said out loud when the funerals came on. My husband asked me why and I said that it was because they are real people. But then I realized they'd been in Cher's house and that had not bothered me. It was because they started with President Pence and not with Ryan and to me that means the funerals were happening in 2020 or earlier because this administration will not win another election. My job and family both have long range plans that reach into 2020. It hit too close to home for me.

They said Pence was 61, which means between June 2020 and June 2021.

I thought this was kidding until I read further. I am now tempted to become obsessed with this show.

Wow, this was a good episode.
I also enjoyed the funerals.
I normally don't like Kristen Wiig's bug-eyed brittle insanity, and all of that was on full display like usual and I can't say I'm looking forward to her temporarily joining the cast eventually, but...this was pretty good, even so. Go figure.

I was ready to hate this ep from the intro when she was doing another one of her horrible, horrible SNL characters, but weirdly, the more alone she was, the better I liked it.

Well, there was Jon Hamm, Phil 2, and Mike, right? Its just that traditionally shows give some closure after a cliffhanger season finale (or hiatus) and I would like some closure on Gail, but even more I'm really distressed about Melissa being confined while her mental health declines. I has no problems with the actual episode, which I did like. Especially the funerals.

I mean, this entire scene was wish fulfillment, but my take on it was that Trump had been impeached.

The series starts in 2020, which means Kristen Wiig's episode is happening sometime around 2019. I assumed impeachment as well.
