Bethany encounters a mysterious woman whose past may hold the key to defeating the cult -- or empowering it.
I’m so happy that Frances Conroy is back. I’ve been enjoying this season a lot, but it’s been just a little too real and horrifying, and some Coven-style small-p politics is a clever way to lighten the atmosphere just a bit.

I liked this episode better than I expected. I don't know enough about Andy Warhol or Valerie Solanas to know how accurate the depictions were. I thought Peters was good as Warhol (Sarah Paulson tends to get all the praise, and deservedly so, but Peters also has a very impressive range), and Lena Dunham was...you know, it's Lena Dunham. I am not really a fan, but I didn't mind her. It was okay.
How much of what we saw in flashback really happened (in the context of AHS)? I presume all the scenes Frances Conroy's character could not have witnessed are empirically real, but I'm not sure about the rest of it. For one thing, AHS lore has shown us the Zodiac Killer already (in Hotel), so that part probably isn't true. My guess is the whole thing is a story Kai made up. But the question is, if Frances Conroy's character isn't who she says she is, then...who is she?
