Stranger aka Forest of Secrets [Season] - South Korean Police Purcedural
November 10, 2017 2:42 PM - Subscribe
A prosecutor without empathy and a bold female police are taking a murder case involving unrestrained political corruption.
It is definitely a slow burn murder mystery. Netflix only at the moment.
Stars: Seung-woo Cho, Doona Bae, Jae-woong Choi

I have developed a fondness for South Korean police dramas. Though most of them get very silly too quickly. This one is very grounded so far. I have gotten sucked in and lost track of time, so that is a good sign.

The typo in the title had me thinking this involved cats. Now I'm disappointed.

Same here. Came for the cats, was let down.

miss-lapin, it's on Netflix as just "Stranger" (I haven't watched it, just added to my list for eventual viewing)

Ahhhhhhh thanks. Netflix keeps suggesting it to me so it's good to know that. I shall add it to my list.

I watched the first 40 minutes of episode 1 last night. I'm intrigued, will definitely finish it eventually. I think this is the first Korean tv-show that I've watched (I've been meaning to try one, I'm sure there are a few others in my Netflix queue, but they've slid down the list) so I imagine there's a lot of subtext/genre-tropes I'll be missing.
I've submitted it as a show on Fanfare, if you feel like starting an episode thread, KaizenSoze. (Though maybe wait and see if the mods are able to get "Stranger" into the title - it's defaulted to the imdb-verified title for now, but I used the contact form to ask if it can be revised.)

oh yeah! let me know about the title confusion. I can't manually change the title we have it under, so I'm adding "Stranger" to the plot description for now, and will try to see if there's a way to change it.

I just finished episode 4. I'm really enjoying. The woman who played the kick boxer on Sens8 is in it as a cop.

Just watched the first couple episodes of this, thanks to this FPP. Needed something to counteract the extra-stupid of season 5 of Grimm, and it's hitting the spot.
Dramabeans recaps here.

Si-Mok looks exactly like a boss I had once, probably my most difficult boss ever, which makes this show uniquely weird for me.
I'm only partway through the second episode, but it's good so far. Some quirks and stiff translation in the subtitles, but it's working for me, I like where it's going, and I like the sardonic expressions everybody has. Plus everybody has a kickass Hyundai.
