I'm thrilled Justine Lupe is in this as Astrid, she's one of my favorite actresses. I also loved the nerd-off by the math guys.

Quantum leap? Just dropped like that at this time? Would that be true?

I'm glad they had Susie describe her perspective on what Midge is doing at these parties, because to me it was cringe-inducing to see her at a party doing extended monologues, despite the fact that the material was good. I just imagine everyone leaving the party thinking "who was that charming narcissist?" But I guess in an Amy Sherman-Palladino show, it's best not to take things too literally and accept we're seeing a stylized version of reality.

Yeah, I'm finding that I have to be in a particular mood for this show; a lot of the story beats feel very forced, but that actually feels like a deliberate decision and it fits with all the careful choreography in extended shots where a character walks through a crowded apartment/hallway/etc with all kinds of stuff going on in the background.
