Criminal Minds: Burn
October 9, 2014 10:43 AM - Season 10, Episode 2 - Subscribe

Garcia goes to Death Row to visit the man who attempted to kill her and Reid. Meanwhile, a serial killer fixated on Dante's Inferno begins to kill victims in keeping with each concentric circle of Hell.

Garcia's decision is spurred by her guilt that she did not intend for this man to end up on Death Row even though he attempted to murder her and Reid, confessed to other murders, and waived his right to appeal. Morgan objects to Garcia's plan, and they part on poor terms. The Inferno killer subplot is barely there. The main focus of the episode is consequences of Garcia's choice and her bond with Morgan.

Side note: in the conversation with the killer Garcia guesses, but doesn't know she's been his only visitor. Knowing Garcia's character, I find it hard to believe she wouldn't have known that going in. It becomes a pivotal part of the scene as she begins to see his vulnerability as a human being, but I simply couldn't believe she wouldn't know.

I could have also done without the comedy bit while she was waiting for transport within the prison. It was painful.

On the up side Jennifer Jason Hewitt didn't really talk so...there was that.

I'm not sure why but, I'm all in for JLH. I think she'll fit "right in" with the others. Like "Suspect Behavior" there's a lot of promise there. Let's only hope they are able to capitalize on it this time! I'm still in mourning of Janeane Garofalo....
