Britannia: All Episodes

In 43 AD, the Roman Army - determined and terrified in equal measure - returns to crush the Celtic heart of Britannia - a mysterious land ruled by warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the powerful forces of the underworld. Or so they say.
I’ve watched six episodes so far. It’s determinedly ok — not great, not even always good, but fun in the elaborately dumb and sweary kind of way.
One of the best parts is seeing actors I know from previous roles, like the Detectorists guy, in completely different roles and appearing to be having a great time with the silly story.

About half way through and it skirts a fine line between bollocks and brilliant and I'm enjoying it tremendously
Compare and contrast with Jez Butterworth's other folk horror comedy masterpiece analysis of the myths legends and characters of Britannia - Jerusalem

Maybe I should give it another episode. It wasn't horrible. Bits of it were even good. But it was just so middle of the road. Just a straight-up five out of 10 with nothing much indicating it had hidden depths.
