Altered Carbon: Force of Evil Show Only
February 18, 2018 12:10 AM - Season 1, Episode 4 - Subscribe
Tortured by his captor, Kovacs taps into his Envoy training to survive. Ortega springs a surprise on her family for Día de los Muertos.
Recaps:
Vulture: Torture. Die. Repeat.
Decider: I Live, I Die, I Live Again
Den of Geek: With the strange juxtaposition of a torturous interrogation and a philosophical family gathering, Altered Carbon slows down a bit.
Bleeding Cool: It is one of the funnier moments as the older woman is running around as a large, bald man covered in tattoos.
Dmi the Twin!
Shit, I'd follow Falconer.
The VR torture and Dmi's twin-ness bring up a lot of potential things that may be explored later: snagging a needlecast to torture for information, kidnapping, copying and replacing a stack to do the same, armies of identically trained soldiers working to the same ends. I hope they get into it!
6'6" skinhead abeula is a hoot!
Poor Alice, rendered for parts.
Tak really seems more like a terrorist SF operative - survive, evade, resist, escape. Turn your captors fears against them. Use their questions as answers, extrapolate, and build a story.
The syncretc Day Of The Dead is interesting - All Souls, Thanksgiving, Dia de Muertos, and a little bit of Easter, all in one.
I got the sense Mama and Samir are maybe a little closer than they hinted at...
So who are the aliens? The trees, the stacks, maybe the FTL transmissions?
RDs (real deaths) all around on the escape.

I really want to know how was the casting pitch for the big dude. "You need to play a big, biker-gang type and also a hispanic grandmother".

Abuela-in-biker really showcases that actor's skills. He has mad chops.

So, the camera-invisible man, this is going to turn out to be someone from Tak's past right? And maybe also the killer of Bancroft? I haven't watched any further eps yet, this is just wild speculation.

which, I suppose might raise more questions than answers.
Did the aliens have scrith for the what appears to be several miles high house?

Biker dude may well be one of the best, but there have been a lot of people playing very far from what you'd expect from their look. In some ways it's the niftiest part of adapting something like this to a visual medium.

Yeahhhhh...that kind of stuck out to me. Not to get too spoilery, that appears to get contradicted later on, which, I suppose might raise more questions than answers.
