To erase the last of Sam's humanity, Reign hunts down Ruby while Alex and Lena keeps her hidden. Supergirl and J'onn visit Sam's mother to protect her.

AV Club review

I felt like Sam's mother was overly confessing to being a bad mom, like, we understand! You did her wrong! Now just go hide! And then she got herself killed for no reason. If you know you were a bad mom and you know your daughter thinks that, why do you think confronting a superpowered psychotic personality of your daughter would make her calm down? At least she kinda saved J'onn, I guess?

I'm liking all of Alex's new toys, too bad they were mostly useless against Reign. Also, Ruby is basically fulfilling Alex's motherhood needs, so now I'm worried how things are going to end for Sam. And Alex needs to learn that you can't lie to teenagers and then expect them to behave, even for their own self-interest. It's a nice mirror though to the bad choices a mother can make, as far as Sam's mother goes.

The fight in this episode was pretty good, much better than the all out brawl that was actually kind of meh in the last episode.

Forgot to add: I love that Lena threw Shoehorn's distrust back in Kara's face, unknowingly, about the betrayal she felt from Shoehorn. And she's right. Kara can't even say anything.
