The 100: Acceptable Losses
June 21, 2018 11:55 AM - Season 5, Episode 7 - Subscribe

Clarke and Bellamy make a startling discovery about Wonkru's battle plans as Echo and Raven must complete their mission.

Octavia continues spiral into the darkness. I figured at some point she would butt heads with Indra, and man it's hard to watch those two not be on the same side. I hope they give Octavia a decent resolution this season. Her character has been through so much trauma (but honestly, every one of them has), and I don't want her to get some redemption.

I honestly thought Echo and Raven worked that plan out and they were both going along with it, but I should've given Raven more credit. She really didn't want to betray Shaw. But at least she was practical enough to know that since she's already on that bridge, her friends were the priority and she'll have to deal with Echo later.

We still have Murphy and Emori holding McCreary hostage, so I can't wait for that to play out.

Damn... If there's one thing this show is good at, it's not letting the past go to waste. The callback to Jasper were rough. That suicide note... man...

Loved this.

In particular:
* Diyoza is great.

I'm so pleased by how genre savvy she is. Like, I totally believe her commanding the respect of hundreds of hardened, violent criminals.

* Goddamn, Octavia.

Yeah. Especially because Indra is my favorite there, and Octavia grew up so much in her care. I mean, it had to happen - this show is all about growing up, and part of that is kids questioning their parents - but ouch.

It's also hard watching her manipulate Madi, and the use of the horrible worm monsters was so cruel it actually caught me off guard.

* Goddamn, Jasper.

Right? All I could think was 'of course Jasper managed to get in one more lick from beyond the grave.'

So yeah. I feel like The 100 is back on track after some problematic characterization issues last season.

I'm slowly catching up. One moment that struck me: as Diyoza was showing the fromer Wonkru people through the village, there were some dude shooting glass bottles. What a terrible way to spend your time! You currently have no way to make more bullets OR glass containers, and both are very useful things to have. You can justify it for character reasons, but these are valuable resources you should be conserving.
