An Inspector Calls (2015)

Northern England, 1912. The dinner of a wealthy family is interrupted by Inspector Goole, who only announces that a young woman has committed suicide. Then, he simply asks everyone present, one by one, if they knew her.

I watched this last night after I saw this post, and I enjoyed it. Really suspenseful and well-acted. But I can't help being frustrated with Inspector Goole. If he had knowledge of what was going to happen to Eva, why didn't he use it to save Eva?

This is a remake of a classic film of the same name starring the amazing Alistair Sim as the inspector.

The story plays with time as well as reality. (And the message that capitalism, class structure, and lack of empathy was destroying England almost as badly as the Nazis did wouldn't have been made otherwise.)
