Do we imagine a What If had Simon Williams been able to hang on to the role? He would have brought a sort of earthiness to the role versus Malahide's archness.

That there may be a fanfic Alleyn/Campion crossover written by me is a mystery that may never be revealed.

I have only seen part of one episode because (read all the books) I could just not fathom Patrick Malahide in the role. I didn't know Simon Williams made the pilot but I'm not sure he would've been right either. At any rate, it was made 20 years ago; time for a reboot.
