Heaven of Horror review - "Jinn is out on Netflix now and the new series is a hybrid of fantasy, horror, sci-fi and drama. It might not offer enough horror or sci-fi for your taste since fantasy and drama is at the forefront of the plot."

By chance, I've just watched episode one. And I loved it. It's unfamiliar yet the teens are realistic - awkward, self-obsessed and not very wise. I'll watch the rest (only 5 episodes! So much easier than the 20 typical of Korean series!)
Ima finish the series and report back but so far it's refreshing.

I liked the look of the show - having only ever seen that part of Petra featured in Indiana Jones, getting to see all the beautiful arial shots of the landscape and other structures was really neat. But the pacing is pretty uneven - I didn't feel like there was a good balance between the supernatural plot and the teen relationship dramatics, it just kinda lurched back and forth between them, and then the ending is pretty abrupt & cliff-hanger-y. And I don't know that a season 2 is all that likely if Jordanian officials are so upset with the show's portrayal of teens drinking & fooling around that they're trying to get it banned from Arabic Netflix - at the very least, it seems supremely unlikely that they'll let the production film on-location in Petra again.
