I liked the visit to RISD and the pull Vic feels towards a normal life. It gave her a sense of agency. Having some experience in higher ed, I'm handwaving away the idea that you can just forge a tax return for the FAFSA in this day and age, but, um, okay. I like that she did something for herself.

Her "friends" are pretty awful, but I think it underscores how lonely and isolated she is, so I'm fine with it. I'm still struggling to understand the end game here. Right now it feels more "inspired by" Joe Hill's novel than it feels like an adaptation of the source material.

I definitely forget that this is set in modern day sometimes. Vic's fashion often strikes me as very 80s. I haven't read the books, but I'm thinking of starting a books included post for the show because people keep mentioning the book. While the comments are always vaguely referencing how different the show is I'm wondering if we need it anyway.
