I'm not generally drawn to soapy non-genre dramas, but, this did have a beach-book/guilty pleasure appeal. Reminded me of how much I enjoyed Revenge when it started.

Not sure if you're kidding, Chrysostom - but this is an adaptation of a Spanish "Gran Hotel" series (which I've never seen, but is currently streaming on Netflix US)

I was so confused, since I was expecting this to be the Gran Hotel series. The Spanish version is also set at the turn of the 20th century. (I only watched one episode of it - it seemed like a slightly more scandalous version of Dowtown Abbey).
