A woman is forced to go on the run when her superhuman abilities are discovered. Years after having abandoned her family, the only place she has left to hide is home.
Have you seen this, ellieBOA? Curious what your thoughts are. (I haven't seen it but am interested)

I have, I post things to FF after watching them. I enjoyed it, my memory sucks so can’t say much more!

How was I not previously aware of this movie? I just saw it at the Boston Sci Fi Movie Marathon and was blown away - what a delightful gem of a film. So pretty! Three generations of excellent women of color.

Really enjoyed this. It was a great take on superherodom, and did a lot with a little: the water bottles for sale everywhere, the dirty cars, the kitchen without water sounds. These thoughtful art direction choices were great.
The story wasn't... sophisticated? You could see where it was going about halfway though, but I think that's what you want in a superhero movie.
I'm curious to read some analysis from black critics. It was written and directed by a white couple and I had some questions about some of their choices.

I never got around to watching 'Fast Color' on Prime, but Netflix just added it to US streaming this weekend, so I finally got to it.
I went into it pretty blind on the plot, just knew that it was some kind of indie-sci-fi that I heard was good. And it was. Great acting from the 3 main actresses, and it's always nice to see David Strathairn in anything.
Dumb question time -- are we meant to understand that Ruth created the drought in the first place? Like, subconsciously, after baby Lila nearly getting drowned?
