How sad is it that I am so inured to the ridiculous age gaps in tv/movie couples that I just assumed Clancy Brown was playing Jo's husband until she called him Dad?

I was getting more of a D.A.R.Y.L. vibe from this show than LOST.

Forgot to say - I did like this pilot. I’m not sure how sustainable it is as an ongoing series, since so many of these ‘high concept’ genre shows are doomed to get cancelled too soon or too late, but I like the casting and my curiosity is piqued, so, I’ll keep watching.

So happy Alison Tolman has another lead role. Now if we could only get Martin a gig.

My first thought was the firefighters at the crash site were really really bad at putting out the fires.

So the little girl, piper, is a psychic or alien, or mutant or something, with magneto powers that also disrupt electronics, maybe some other powers (her digging into her neck with the box cutter may indicate she doesn't feel pain normally, and have we seen her sleep ever? Also she says the pills aren't helping with the cancer maybe that's true?). Presumably she was on a plane, which, if we believe our friendly investigative reporter, was from a Homeland security research facility, presumably this RL one on plum island, used to study animal diseases, and a now discontinued bio weapons research project. Though in RL Plum Island has no airstrip.

If she belonged to the government, that partially explains the fake parents having a photo of her (in pigtails for some reason), and also helps explain the fake NTSB. Of course there may be more than one faction involved, but let's say it's one for now, who want to get the girl back.

Presumably the government agency is behind the neck implant. But I don't understand about the TV... some sort of neck implant mediation of her powers?
