What motivation would Chuck have had to send Kevin to hell? That was the weirdest thing about this episode to me.

Just to increase the “Chuck is a capricious god” narrative? This whole season feels forced and off.

Trivia:

- Andrew Baker, who played Rob (the possessed resident that stabs the woman, Nan, at the beginning), previously played Demon #1 in 9.11 First Born.
- Todd Thomson, who played Dave (one of the couple that was possessed and had their insides torn apart), previously played Richard Keel in 3.02 The Kids Are Alright and Jolene's Husband in 6.11 Appointment in Samarra.
- Ketch met Rowena when she was captured by the British Men of Letters, and arranged her escape in exchange for the charm of magic she used to allow her to resurrect herself. He was searching for Rowena in 13.07 War of the Worlds and shared a knowing look with her at the end of 13.22 Exodus, but this episode marks the first time Ketch and Rowena have actually interacted on-screen in an episode.
- The real Francis Tumblety was born in Ireland, and his family emigrated to the United States when he was a child. He worked as a physician, known for creating and selling his own medicines. He traveled back to England and Europe a number of times and lived in Whitechapel at the time of the killings attributed to Jack the Ripper.

This was a fun introduction to Jack the Ripper and his little ghost gang.

Now that we get a sense of who Chuck is, of course he would send Kevin to hell. It's literally just _more drama_ for him. That ass. At some point down this line he would've create a narrative that have the boys rescue Kevin from hell.

Quotes

Rowena: So, uh, tell me about Arthur Ketch.
Dean: Seems like you've met.
Rowena: That was more of a torturer-torturee relationship. Fun, but I didn't really get to know him.

Dean: [upon seeing Kevin] I don't believe it.
Kevin: Yeah, I was gonna meet up with you guys sooner, but I... kinda just got here. [to Ketch] Kevin Tran. Former prophet...
Ketch: Arthur Ketch, uh... former assassin. Mostly.

Trivia

In the final scene with Amara and Chuck, Amara is wearing bright yellow whereas Chuck is wearing darker blues, signifying the changes in their characters.

Final appearance of the series for Osric Chau as Kevin Tran.

God, is there a universe in which Kevin Tran doesn't suffer some horrible fate?
