Schitt's Creek: Smoke Signals
January 7, 2020 6:08 PM - Season 6, Episode 1 - Subscribe
David scouts a potential wedding venue, while Johnny and Moira have a romantic picnic by the creek.
This didn’t quite reach the hilarity of the Season 4 and Season 5 openers for me, but I did guffaw at Moira clutching her precious wigs after the “fire.”
I wondered how they were going to keep Alexis involved if she was shipping off to the Galapagos... I’m glad she’s still around (even if due to the silliness of a ticket date screw-up) but it’ll be a shame if she doesn’t actually ever get there. Her willingness to go was such a big step for her character growth.

I'm curious how they will deal with Ted, if they are going to shove the entire season into the month before Alexis leaves.

David and Alexis being so terrible at apologizing made me guffaw and we have already gotten some amazing Face Journeys from David.
I'd forgotten how short the episodes are, it was over so quickly.

This is the first time I've been able to watch the show in real time (I...didn't have Pop channel until suddenly apparently I did), and it has such a different feel when you can't just jump into the next episode! I loved Alexis thinking that it's okay to wear high heels for the trip because she'll just change into the slippers they give you with the mimosas before takeoff.
That had to be the wig to end all wigs. I keep thinking the wigs can't get any wilder but they always do. Loved Moira coming to terms with retiring, and then as soon as there's the slightest bit of interest tossing it all away as fast as she can.
I always enjoy the times when Stevie watches the utter batshit craziness around the Roses with that half smile, half grimace on her face. I can't wait to see what this season brings for her.

I once had to reschedule a flight while I was on a trip, and somehow in the mobile interface for the airline's website, I managed to book a flight for EXACTLY ONE YEAR later than I intended. When I called the airline to straighten things out, the rep said that they didn't even think it was possible to book flights that far out. I feel you, Alexis.

Checking in with the series years after anyone else. I thought I'd mention that I once went to Waterloo International to get on the Eurostar after staying up all night to get a job finished before my trip, put the ticket in the machine and the machine spat it out again. Looked at the ticket and realised I'd booked it for the day before. I picked up my bags, went home and went to bed.
(When I was shopping for tickets I had a lot of tabs open in my browser and I got confused. Anyway, it happens to people. Or people do it to themselves. One or the other.)
