A discovery in the woods gives two teenaged boys an opportunity to step outside their lives and learn everything is not as it seems.
Watched this earlier this evening. So good, so sad. Maybe Jakob got his 'would you rather' wish, and Danny did for sure, but be careful what you wish for ...

I think I liked this one better than the pilot, even if the acting and atmospherics of the first episode were more compelling. The plotline was a little less telegraphed, and it felt like there was more of the characters to explore, since they weren't such ciphers. That might be helped a bit by the fact that the setting and characters are building with each episode, instead of it being a strict anthology.

Yeah, I really love the loose format and slow pace and strong atmosphere of doom and melancholy. There’s a very strong monkey’s paw theme in this one, but wish fulfillment in general seems to run up and down the series (no spoilers).
I also love the aesthetic of the series. The recognizable 70s and 80s style, but almost as Soviet looking as American. I guess that’s the Swedish origin material coming out, halfway between communist and consumerist.

So far I'm enjoying the character connections without (obvious (to me)) plot connections.

I wonder if the grandpaw/ Russ intended for the transference or will take advantage of it somehow?

This one was so awkward that it hurt. Like I was physically uncomfortable at times. Haven't gone back for a third episode for that.
