Yeah, I can't disagree with the writer's logic that it would take something as extreme as Kenny's murder to get Eve back into the game, but, oof.

As soon as Kenny appeared I announced to my wife my prediction that he would be this season’s male character who gets stuffed in Eve’s refrigerator to give her some motivation and focus. I have to admit, though, my prediction was for it to be a mid-season crisis.
Sorry to see you go, kid.

i was really not happy about the death. it makes sense as motivation for Eve to work with Carolyn. but still, i hated it. i agree somewhat with the Vulture article, about the marriage. it was too easy, too pat, to wreck it so quickly. felt like the entire episode was one big downer. i understand why it was done, but am not finding it enjoyable. it was all so... predictable. really hoping the season goes someplace unexpected and exciting, but not feeling it from the get-go.

I understand it from a narrative point of view but I found myself doing that thing tv has done to me where I start muttering "don't be dead" over and over to absolutely no avail.
You bastards.
