Another episode where a sewer that you're sure will go home pulls it out of the hat in the Made-to-Measure!
You get some indication of how editing shapes the viewer's perception of a sewer's skills. Everyone seemed really surprised about Ali going home, but I never got the impression from the show that she was
amazing. It makes me wonder what's going on that we as viewers don't see.

I'd love to see a version of this where the editing rules (i.e., what gets chosen to be shown) is selected by a known set of rules/algorithm, so that we could trust that we were getting a proportional sense of how much drama, indecision, boring work, etc. went into it.

Ali got garment of the week in the previous episode though.
Someone on Ravelry said that a participant in an earlier series talked about how assistants have to crawl around to sort the machines, trying to keep out of sight.

Also, 'sleep set' is a weird term.

I just discovered this show this year and I love it, even though I know nothing about sewing. I love the vibe, which seems so old-fashioned. The music is great, the scenes of them eating breakfast are fun, and it seems even more relaxed and happy than GBBO, which surprised me.
Therese has saved herself a couple of times now. Just when you think she's out, she does something amazing. I loved that sleep set.
For non-UK people, you can get the shows every week on reddit on
. That's also where you can find GBBO.

Have I missed the post for episode 6? Just watched it. There were some amazing winter dresses.
