I wasn't aware of this movie back when it was breaking Nigerian box office records and doing the film festival rounds, but I listen to the Overinvested podcast regularly, and since they did a patreon-requested episode on it recently decided to check it out. I haven't watched many Nollywood movies yet - but I've noticed that Netflix has been getting more of them lately (the podcasters pointed out that Netflix launched in Nigeria recently, so they'll no doubt be adding a lot more to the library), so I figured this would be an easy one to start with.

As rom-coms go, I didn't find it super-hilarious. But as the podcasters Gavia & Morgan pointed out, the top-grossing movie of any country is generally going to be the 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' of its country, so, it was still interesting to see what's mainstream big outside of the US Disney machine.
