Lane beating the crap out of Pete is one of the Top 10 moments of the whole series. Maybe even of the entire history of television.

No, they've definitely talked about it before. I don't remember the specific episode but they've detailed their whoever goes somewhere takes the other with them deal.

Loved the little touch of Don subtly noting the "Whitman" last name of the Texas sniper.

It seemed like one of the underlying themes in this episode was masculinity. Lane fights Pete after Pete questions his masculinity. Pete's own masculinity is challenged by his inability to drive and his inability to fix the pipe.
