In the castle, Alfonso, León, and Germán encounter Bernardo, who is only interested in fighting Germán. While Germán and Bernardo confront each other, Alfonso and León venture deeper into the castle in search of Mendoza.

Bernardo is a interesting minor character and I'd like to learn more about their shared past childhood memories but oh well. I can understand why he decided how protecting people wasn't worth it since all kinds of horrible crimes are caused by them at the same time. He ended up being in the wrong place at the wrong time with Mendoza's appearance.

Otherwise, I don't think he would've "fallen" but probably died from injuries sustained instead as a regular human. It's quite sad as German struggled with himself and didn't want to fight his old friend at the end but no choice =/

During the episode I started to wonder if German actually is depressed and maintains his cheery facade to support his son. He's very alone in the world now that I notice it.

Yeah, Germán does give the impression of working too hard at being a carefree womanizer. Ugh. I hope this doesn't mean he is going to become a Horror himself, because of his inner pain and vulnerability.
