You may remember "War-Mantle" being one of the Imperial project codenames that Jynn Erso read out while looking for the Death Star plans on Scarif.

Fun to see some Clone Commandos (Republic Commando was one of my favourite Star Wars games). They seemed like a good match for the Bad Batch too.

So seems like War-Mantle is the project to secretly train Stormtroopers to replace Clonetroopers?

In which the Kaminoans finally learn why it's a bad idea for a contractor to be so tightly-coupled to a single client.

Not sure there's enough runway left for them to stick the landing here—I assume there's got to be a second season as there seem to be a lot of loose ends yet.

Good to see Gregor again; sounds like he's already starting to lose his marbles. I wonder when he met Rex? Speaking of: why to SW characters wear a cloak and hood when they're trying to be ~incognito~?

Also, it occurs to me that the existence of this facility shows what a long game the Emperor was planning. Something that big would take years to construct, possibly even before the end of the Clone Wars.

Yes, it seems logical that Palpatine would recognise that if he could secretly whip up an instant army using cloning, then so could someone else, so the logical option would be to destroy it immediately it wasn't needed any more. The clones also had some inherent weaknesses (eg rapid aging) so it makes sense to switch to regular recruits (it's also presumably cheaper).

I wonder if the Empire baddie's comment that he can use a scientist (but not a politician) is a link to events in Mandalorian (including a character in that series wearing a Kamino patch).
