Lucifer: Buckets of Baggage
September 10, 2021 8:21 PM - Season 6, Episode 2 - Subscribe

Desperate to be helpful, Lucifer assists an exasperated Carol investigate a drag queen's death. Ella and Chloe look into Carol's mysterious background.

Den of Geek recap: Eve and Maze work on their relationship, and Brianna Hildebrand joins the cast of Lucifer. - "What the hell has happened to Chloe Decker? Has the time she’s spent with Lucifer Morningstar over the past five years changed her so irrevocably that she’s willing to break the law to solve a low-level mystery that only indirectly involves the LAPD? The final season’s second episode, “Buckets of Baggage,” offers up an enjoyable romp that awkwardly mixes the world of drag queens with the budding relationship between Ella and Carol. Still an enjoyable story but not Lucifer at its best."

*Chloe uses the superstrength-powers of Amenadiel's necklace to have super-sex with Lucifer at the penthouse, and an apartment-wrecking sparring session with Maze.

*Lucifer has a session with Dr. Linda and asks her to tell him how to be God. He decides helping someone he doesn't care about (Carol) is the way, and inserts himself into his case (murder of the week - drag queen Fred/Fiona killed by stiletto to the neck. Killer was Niles the club manager/Fred's boyfriend, who mistakenly thought Fred was cheating on him with Busty, and killed him by accident when they fought over the shoes & fell.) and love life.

*Ella has "Pete-TSD" and is convinced Carol is too good to be true after they share mutual love for Supercop. She and stir-crazy Chloe steal his personnel files from the records room and learn he was undercover in Vice for 2 years and gone for one year after. Ella and Lucifer break into Carol's place to make sure he doesn't have a secret murder room, but find his secret is that he's a recovering alcoholic.

*First musical number of the season - Lucifer duets 'Lady is a Tramp' with drag queen Busty Bazoongas.

*In Hell, mysterious fishnet-legs revealed to belong to a magenta-winged angel, who was going to talk to now-wingless-Michael about his failed attempt to defeat Lucifer so that she can do it better, but is intrigued to learn from a demon that Dan came closer to killing Lucifer than Michael did. She goes to see Dan, and tells him that Lucifer could get him out of Hell whenever he wanted to, that any angel could fly him back to Earth.

*Ella confesses all her stalker-actions to Carol, he tells her his missing year was from going to rehab, and forgives all her stalker-ing, and they go on their first date to see Supercop. And a frog falls from the sky onto Ella's car afterwards.

The musical number was cute, but it's going to be hard for them to top last seasons musical episode's numbers. (Here's hoping they try, though.)

I don't know that I buy Carol as an actual character rather than as a sort of Dan-shaped plot device (also he's still mostly/forever George from Hart of Dixie for me), but I want Ella to get a happy ending, so, whatever.

Carol is okay but definitely seemed kind of extraneous. Doesn't hurt that he looks so much like Dan to my face blind confusion.

Seconding oh yeah! on Carol. Oh, we'll throw her a bone and get her a guy at the end.

Chloe's gonna be bored without a case to solve. That said, clearly she enjoys superstrength.

OF COURSE Lucifer can't resist a microphone.
