There were news reports going around about a year ago that Jordan Peele was going to adapt this as a tv show. That would be terrific. This lumpy, uneven, occasionally cheap-ass looking movie has a lot of cool ideas in it about gentrification, predatory landlords, etc. But it's so tonally off-kilter. And the lighting/look is borderline basic cable in its crass cheapness. I'm still fond of it though.

I haven't seen this since it came out, but I was quite struck by Everett McGill and Wendy Robie from Twin Peaks being in it, also Ving Rhames a few years before Pulp Fiction.
