Dollface: Season 1 (All Episodes)
February 15, 2022 5:53 PM - Season 1 (Full Season) - Subscribe

After Jules (Kat Dennings) is dumped by her long-term boyfriend, she realizes she needs to reconnect with her women friends -- Madison (Brenda Song), Stella (Shay Mitchell) and Izzy (Esther Povitsky) -- as she navigates her late 20s life as a single woman. Streaming on Hulu and created by Jordan Weiss.

I feel like this show has been overlooked. It's funny and weird. The cast and writing are good. The second season is recently on Hulu but since there wasn't an early post about it, I figured I'd do a first season post (which I need to revisit!) before doing posts for the second season.

I keep getting ads for this show online and it looks like it probably scratches the New Girl itch for something light and friendly and weird. I’d watch it if I had a Hulu subscription.

I am about a decade older than Jules' character but I can also relate to her losing herself in a relationship for a long time and neglecting one's friendships with women. I think that's a relatable journey.

I enjoy the odd fantastic sequences -- they're unexpected and make this show a bit more weird than it needed to be. That's a good thing!

The cast is great and the writing is good! I really like Kat Dennings and I think this show really plays up her strengths. She's definitely a winning center of this show.

Clearly, I made this post but I want more people to watch this.

OK, you got me with the New Girl comparison. So far I like this better than New Girl. I shouldn't have anything in common with Jules, but I actually have everything in common with her, since I also struggle with ordinary friend interactions. Really liking the surreal imagery, and after showing up in my YouTube recommendations I'm down for any Esther Povitsky appearances. I'm two episodes in and really enjoying it. I also like Jules's reactions to what is happening around her. Thank you!
