Another solid one, love Poirot's huffiness at being out bid. He is awfully nice to the killer at the end given that she's trying to get someone else to hang themselves for her crime! But I guess it's more for the daughter's sake that her own. Clever if antiquated using the dinner gong as a thing. Definitely not common any more.

Another stellar example of the short story being blown out in a really intriguing way that fits well with the original gist.
