Chucky (Brad Dourif), the doll possessed by a serial killer, discovers the perfect mate to kill and revive into the body of another doll, Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly).
Directed by Ronny Yu (The Bride with the White Hair). Written, as ever, by Don Mancini.
Currently streaming in the US on SyFy (though I am not clear if that is edited) or available for digital rental on Google Play or YouTube.

Tiffany: [as she and Chucky are about to have sex] Chucky, do you have a rubber?
Chucky: Tiffany, I'm all rubber.
I saw this 20+ years ago and while it was totally not scary, it was a lot of fun in a silly, campy way. I have fond memories of the makeover scene.

Let's not forget that John Ritter, a very young Katherine Heigl, and Alexis Arquette are supporting players.

If you have any affection for this film series at all and have not watched the Chucky TV show (which is on USA Network/Peacock and can be rented in various places) you are doing yourself a profound disservice, as it's probably my favorite part of the entire franchise. It's as funny as Bride, has scares that rival Child's Play, and is as bonkers and expansive as Child's Play 2 and Seed of Chucky.

I mean, yeah, the Chucky tv show is trash. But if you're participating in the FF thread for a 20 year old movie about killer dolls getting married, let's be real: you like a certain kind of trash. Chucky is that kind of trash.

aw hey, great to see this on fanfare - I worked on it! It was a lot of fun, I got to do a bunch of the VFX scenes, but the best was adding the sparks and arcing in the electrocution scene. Some of my best work!

Kitteh and I are doing the Full Chucky this summer, running through every movie and then I'll probably drive through the series again.
I look at this as the "F5" of the Child's Play films: in the Fast and Furious movies they had a strong start, dicked around trying to find the right way to extend the franchise, and it was only when they said 'screw it, let's go nuts' did the whole thing take off into glory. Bride is the pivot point for Mancini, where he's no longer making horror movies, but Chucky movies.
And what an introduction for Jennifer Tilly! There's something really endearing about how everyone in the Chucky orbit becomes ride-or-die for the franchise -- Tilly, the Dourifs, Alex Vincent are clearly all standing by when the Mancini Phone rings. I love it.

I absolutely love this film, it's utterly unhinged and just so much fun.
