This week we're diving into the latest installment of the long-running Kirby franchise, Kirby and the Forgotten Land. We'll also discuss Sony's attempt to take on the juggernaut that is Game Pass with its new PlayStation Plus service. Other games discussed: 13 Sentinels, Tunic.

My spouse pre-ordered the new Kirby and I've been enjoying it a lot. Definitely play on Wild Mode if you have basically any videogame experience, as the default is tuned for 4 year olds.

Very casual, can pick it up and have a great experience in 15 minutes and come back later. What it lacks in difficulty it makes up for in fun factor. It's just a fun game!

I am so bad at playing video games past the first session or two but man I am tempted to pick up Tunic before, as they hinted at, it becomes endlessly memeified and all the secrets go out the window.

Speaking of memes, I've been watching a couple Elden Ring ongoing streams (BDG's Aquarius Crinkle and SSS's Sleepy Steve) and not only understood this meme but enjoyed it immensely.

I've stalled out on it, but it's kind of tough to imagine all the secrets being public if you're not actively out looking for the info. It doesn't seem to have held onto press beyond the initial-week gushing.

Okay, I've now finished Kirby and can def recommend.

I stopped bothering with the short levels where you earn the mats needed to upgrade powers about halfway through the game. Instead just played through the critical path. It was fun!

The last 15% of the game is absolutely certifiably bonkers for a Kirby game. No spoilers but on Wild Mode it took me a couple tries to beat the last boss. The continual escalation of the stakes was hilariously good. Recommend!
